Few people can boast that they offer a taste of the world. Michelle Walker does, with a combined ancestry that includes Amerindian, African, East Indian, French and Scottish blood. Michelle offers a combination of natural talent that has been nurtured through the artistic and performing family that bred and nurtured her creative talents in her native Trinidad and Tobago. She credits accomplished teachers, who she had the privilege of working with early on in her career, like Richard Tang Yuk, Juliet Little Page Eckel and Ronald Taylor for helping her develop into the accomplished performer she is today. Michelle has worked with a number of performing arts organizations, like Ballet Creole, Canboulay Dance Theatre, La Petite Musicale and Inner Stage Theatre, that have provided her with a forum to explore and further develop her creative crafts.
Recognized as tremendously gifted from an early age, Michelle is blessed with a harmonic voice that has for a large number of years lent itself joyfully to many a live stage performance and recording session. Her voice has many times been heard in combination with drama and dance performances in Trinidad, U.S.A. and Canada. Her unique vocal styling adding sparkle to stages from Queen's Hall in Port of Spain, to Oswego, New York, to Premiere Dance Theatre in Toronto as well as many other locations. She has provided supporting vocals at the Award-winning Ossie Gurley Studios in Toronto and Eddie Bullen's Thunderdome studio in Markham, Ontario.
Michelle's lively presence and cooperative spirit is the anchor that keeps the chorus together within AHANAIE. As the mother of two teens and two tots, and a career woman in the field of Office Administration, she recognizes the importance of staying grounded but she has an equally strong thirst for learning and knowledge. She still feels unaccomplished in many areas and is very open to the lessons that each new experience will bring her.
