Forest Description
The Magpie Forest is managed under a Sustainable Forestry Licence by Dubreuil Forest Products Limited. The Magpie Forest is located within the Wawa District of the Ministry of Natural Resources, which in turn is located within the Northeast Region of the MNR.
The Magpie Forest office of Dubreuil Forest Products Limited is located in the town of Dubreuilville. The responsibility for forest management planning is carried out by Dubreuil Forest Products Limited in consultation with MNR and the public. Dubreuil Forest Products Limited is responsible for all of the forestry activities on the Magpie Forest, including planning, harvesting, road construction, renewal and tending.
The Magpie Forest is located in the Boreal Forest. Tree species common to the forest include jack pine, black and white spruce, trembling aspen and white birch. Eastern white cedar and tamarack are found scattered throughout the Forest.
